BoSL election information and timeline for 2023

Dear GSLC Members,

 The Nominating Committee is finalizing the proposed slate of candidates to fill four upcoming vacancies on the Board of Servant Leaders. If you did not submit a nomination during the February 3 to 26 period do not worry. Additional nominations will be accepted from Sunday, March 12, through Saturday, March25, during the 2-week open period. Stay tuned for details on the proposed candidate slate on March 10.

Board members serve two-year terms. Those elected this year will join Linda Terlecki, Paul Kasulis, and Goodwyn Morgan, who are continuing their terms.

This year’s Nominating Committee is comprised of Board Vice Chair Linda Terlecki, Paul Kasulis, Goodwyn Morgan, and Pastor Johann.

Here is the nomination and election schedule. Please note that elections will be held based on the procedures used in 2022; more details to follow.

• February 3 – 26: Nominations submitted; potential candidates contacted
• February 27 – March 6: Nominating Committee finalizes proposed slate of candidates
• March 10: Proposed slate (with candidate profiles) published
• March 12 – 25: Two-week open nomination period. Per GSLC Bylaws (II.c.3) “any member of the congregation may continue to recommend the names of individuals willing to serve on the BoSL along with the individual’s personal profile to the nominating committee. Such candidates will be added to the final slate of prospective new BoSL members without prejudice.”
• March 29: Final candidate slate published
• March 26 – April 8: Quiet Period
• April 12 – 15: Elections held online
