Our Mission Team focuses on supporting national and international mission-related, outreach efforts, providing direct financial support to agencies such as the Southeastern District of the LCMS and Lutheran World Relief and targeted support to specific national and overseas mission programs.

Southeastern District mission support
Good Shepherd joins with more than 200 other LCMS congregations to support mission projects in the Southeastern District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. This District encompasses Washington, D.C., Delaware, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and some counties in Pennsylvania. The District supports new congregation startups, mission opportunities in urban neighborhoods, worshipping communities among immigrants, and more. Southeastern District, LCMS
Lutheran World Relief
Lutheran World Relief focuses on sustainable development projects and disaster relief and recovery. The organization was founded in 1945 to collect and send aid to people living in post-World War II Europe. Helping Hands Craft Ministry
Our own Helping Hands Craft Ministry makes quilts that are sent to Lutheran World Relief and distributed to people suffering from climate or other emergencies. Members of Helping Hands also make baby blankets, lap robes, prayer shawls, and other such items for use by local care providers.
Food for the Poor
Our funds help Food for the Poor as it sends food to areas in Central America devastated by hurricanes. https://foodforthepoor.org
Bethania Kids
Bethania Kids is a Christian mission that focuses on orphaned, abandoned, or disabled children in India by providing food, clothing, shelter, medical and dental care, emotional support, education and vocational training. Lutheran Braille Workers
Started in 1943 to provide Bibles to blind pastors in Germany, Lutheran Braille Workers now has nearly 200 centers that produce publications (distributed free of charge) for blind and visually impaired people in 130 countries. lbwloveworks.org
