Cold Calls - Not Me

Posted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on July 06, 2025

Jesus appoints seventy-two disciples and sends them out in pairs to every town he plans to visit, instructing them to rely on hospitality and proclaim that the kingdom of God has come near. He warns them that they are like lambs among wolves and should expect both welcome and rejection. In towns that receive them, they are to heal the sick and share peace; in those that reject them, they are to shake the dust off their feet as a testimony. Join us as Pastor James discusses how Jesus emphasized that those who listen to the disciples are listening to him, and those who reject them are rejecting God. When the disciples return rejoicing over their authority over demons, Jesus reminds them to rejoice not in power, but in the fact that their names are written in heaven.
