Don't Just Wait! Be Jesus!

Posted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on November 16, 2025

This Sunday, Pastor James invites us into a powerful reflection on the gospel’s theme of waiting. Waiting is something every human knows—whether for milestones in life or for the promised return of Christ. Yet, Pastor James reminds us that waiting is not meant to be idle or distracted. Instead, it is a sacred season of preparation. In the midst of uncertainty, Christians are called to fix their eyes on Jesus and transform waiting into growth—through prayer, study, worship, and a deepening of faith. But Pastor James doesn’t stop there. He challenges us to see waiting as an active call to serve others, to embody the compassion and love of Christ in our daily lives. In doing so, our waiting becomes more than endurance—it becomes witness. So when the day comes and Jesus returns, may He find His people not weary or distracted, but faithfully living out His grace, shining as His presence in the world.
