Faithful Persistence

Posted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on October 19, 2025

Pastor James kicks off today’s message with a clever nod to Bil Keane’s “The Family Circus,” spotlighting prayer as a lively, two-way relationship with God. He draws from the parable of the persistent widow to show that prayer isn’t about convincing a reluctant God—it’s about proving our faith through perseverance. With the powerful charge to “pray as if everything depended on God and work as if everything depended on you,” he challenges believers to be both prayerful and proactive. Abandoning prayer signals doubt, but persistent, faith-driven prayer fuels hope and spiritual momentum. In this call to action, Pastor James reminds us that trust in God’s promises is the heartbeat of a thriving prayer life.
