Keep Awake!

Advent reminds us that our waiting is not for the spectacle of shopping or Santa, but for Christ himself. Though the world lulls us with carols, lights, and consumer frenzy, Jesus calls us to “keep awake” in hope and readiness. We are not waiting for a baby in a manger, but for the King who will return in splendor to renew creation and bring justice. This waiting is not passive—it is lived out in forgiveness, service, and witness, together as the body of Christ. Advent is the season where we prepare our hearts and lives, not alone but in communion, for the promised day when all things are made new.
