Life-Giving Fruit

The disobedience of humanity's first parents barred us from eternal life, but Christ's perfect obedience and redemptive sacrifice reopened the way. In the Lord's Supper, Christians receive "salvation's living fruit" and the promise of eternal life—a sacramental participation in the fruit of the cross (Christ's body and blood) that Adam and Eve could never taste.
