Outside or Inside?

We live in a world obsessed with appearances, the tall athlete, the polished professional, the impressive resume, yet God sees straight through to what actually matters: your heart. Pastor Johann's sermon on 1 Samuel 16 exposes this brutal truth through Saul and David, two kings who reveal that God's judgment operates in a completely different dimension than human perception, valuing internal character over external credentials. We're all guilty of the same mistake: we perform religiosity with the right words and behaviors while our hearts remain untransformed, fooling everyone except the One who sees everything. Authentic faith isn't about the facade you present to the world, it's about a heart genuinely surrendered to Christ, the only thing God actually evaluates. History proves God's pattern: He chooses the overlooked shepherd boy, the obscure shoemaker, the weak and despised, not because they look impressive, but because their surrendered hearts accomplish His will and display His glory in ways the world's "qualified" candidates never could.
