Qoheleth - The Preacher

Join us today as Pastor James discusses the timeless question posed in Ecclesiastes 2:22 - what lasting gain do we receive from all our toil under the sun? Qoheleth, the preacher, a figure of wisdom and introspection, explores the emptiness of labor pursued for wealth, pleasure, or legacy, finding each ultimately fleeting and unsatisfying. He observes that even great accomplishments are left to others after death, often without regard for the effort or wisdom behind them, leading to despair and a sense of futility. Yet, he discovers that true enjoyment and meaning in work come only through a relationship with God, who gives wisdom, joy, and purpose. In the end, Qoheleth, the preacher, concludes that life without God is vanity, but with God, even the simplest labor becomes sacred and fulfilling.
