The Crown - Without the Cross?

In today's gospel, we read about the devil tempting Jesus with the promises of bread when He was hungry, the glory and power of the world's leaders, and the assurance of rescue, suggesting that God alone could not keep Him safe. Jesus could avoid suffering, death, and the cross by worshipping Satan, but He denied the devil using Scripture. This reflection emphasizes that we can also rely on Scripture to resist temptation, reminds us that, as we journey through our own challenges and bear our crosses, Jesus chose the crown through the cross, and carries our burdens with us.
