The Holy Trinity

Posted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on June 15, 2025

Join us this Holy Trinity Sunday as Pastor Johann reflects on the three-in-one nature of God, focusing on the Holy Spirit, whose role is often less emphasized than the Father and Son. The third article of the Creed affirms belief in the Spirit and His work in the church, communion of saints, forgiveness, resurrection, and eternal life. The Spirit empowers believers to spread the Gospel, nurture the faithful, and live in fellowship, emphasizing the importance of communal worship and service. Resurrection is not reincarnation; believers will retain their identities in glorified bodies, as seen with Moses and Elijah at the Transfiguration. Though the Trinity defies human logic, it is a fundamental doctrine of faith, revealing the unity of Father, Son, and Spirit, who work together to bring salvation and eternal life.
