The Reality of Waiting

Posted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on November 08, 2026

Waiting tests the heart in ways few other seasons can. In Jesus’ parable of the ten bridesmaids, the challenge is not staying awake every moment but holding on to hope when God’s promises seem delayed. Join Pastor James as he explores how the early church wrestled with Christ’s apparent absence and why that same struggle still speaks to believers today. Whether we are eagerly anticipating joy or anxiously awaiting difficult news, God calls us to wait together, encouraging one another through faith and fellowship. In the end, faithful waiting is more than enduring the delay. It is a hopeful way of life, shaped by trust in God’s promises and the joyful expectation of Christ’s coming kingdom.
