The Unexpected

This Christmas season, Matthew’s gospel reminds us to expect the unexpected. John the Baptist and his generation longed for a mighty, judgmental Messiah, yet God’s plan unfolded in Jesus, the humble Lamb of God. Even John wrestled with doubt when Jesus didn’t fit the mold of worldly power. Pastor James challenges us to resist chasing material fulfillment and instead embrace repentance and transformation. By aligning our hearts with God’s promises, we discover the true, surprising gifts of Christmas—repentance through John and salvation through Christ.
