Acolyte/Crucifer
Service Support, Worship Ministry
Acolytes light the candles near the altar at the beginning of a worship service and extinguish them at the end. You may also be asked to participate in a processional and recessional with the pastors and the crucifer. Acolytes wear robes (provided) and sit in the chancel area (near the altar). Being an acolyte is a great way for youths to participate in worship services. Training is provided.
The Crucifer carries the crucifix (large cross) into the sanctuary and place it on a holder hear the altar. Carry the crucifix out of the sanctuary at the end of the service. The crucifer wears a robe (provided) and sits in the chancel area (near the altar). Crucifers serve during worship services in the sanctuary (not during Praise services, in the Fellowship Hall). This is a great way for youths to participate in a worship service. Training is provided.
Note: 11 a.m. services are live-streamed and recorded.
