Board Member Qualifications
The Nominating Committee will seek candidates who:
Meet the requirements of BoSL membership as stipulated in the Constitution and Bylaws
- Regularly participate in the worship, sacramental, and educational life of the congregation
- Undertake personal spiritual disciplines for the development of their own faith lives
- Are good communicators
- Are visionary
- Can effectively represent the concerns of the members of the congregation
- Are open to learning the basic concepts of the governance manual
- Are willing and able to support the Strategic Direction of the congregation
- Are willing and able to accept the BoSL responsibilities and member responsibilities, as delineated in Policy Sections 2.1 and 2.2 [Board and Board Member responsibilities]
- Are not currently employed by the congregation as staff members or have not been so employed any time within the three years immediately preceding the election

Good Shepherd’s “Above and Beyond” giving program started in 2017 to enhance and grow our ministry programs further than our general budget could accommodate. We thank God for everyone who has generously responded to the projects within the program year in and year out. Without your participation none of this would be possible.
Gifts to the sustained Above and Beyond program are just one way for us to acknowledge our willingness to hear God’s call to do even more than we can imagine and trust in Him to provide. An updated description of immediate and long-term Above and Beyond opportunities is presented in this booklet. This fall issuance includes additional items and updated totals reflecting the remaining funds needed or if an item has been fully funded.
These gifts may be given in celebration of a life milestone; in honor or memory of a person; to advance an area of ministry that has touched your life; or just to respond to an area of need identified by Good Shepherd’s ministry teams. Your generosity not only supports local needs but has reached people around the world.
