When religious leaders asked Jesus “Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” they were trying to trick Him – and He knew it. He answered, “Render unto . . . God the things that are God’s.” Using those words, Pastor James speaks to “the things that are God’s” and points out that Jesus’ answer rests in the words found in Genesis 1, when God said, “Let us make man in our image.” The most important lesson is this: We belong to God, and He wants and deserves our first and our best.
