Board of Servant Leaders - 2024 election
The Nominating Committee has received three nominees (Jennifer Pelletier, Larry Austin, and Paul Kasulis) to fill the three upcoming vacancies on the Board of Servant Leaders. Check out the biographies of the candidates below:
Larry Austin
Larry Austin began attending Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in 2020 after moving to the area and became a member in 2023. He grew up in a Christian home with parents who modeled a life of service to the church. Larry looks at being a candidate for the Board of Servant Leaders Larry as an opportunity in faith to serve God.
Larry has previous experience, most recently he was a member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in San Jose, CA where he served on the church council and the call committee. Larry is married to Holly, since 2001, and they have five children, Luke (20), Peter (18), Mark (15), Timothy (13), and Rose (9).
Aside from attending his children’s sporting events and performances, Larry enjoys hiking, reading, travel, and just about anything outdoors.
Paul Kasulis
Paul Kasulis is thankful for the 25 years of spiritual and personal support from my Good Shepherd Lutheran Church family. His direct support to GSLC includes teaching adult Sunday School, prior service on both the Board of Servant Leaders (2017-18 and 2023-2024) and the Finance Committee. He brings an attitude of gratitude, praying for what is need rather than what is perceived to be deserved, and finding ways to say yes when called.
Paul believes that each of us are called to be a worker in the mission to share the love of Jesus Christ with all people. Paul is eager to support that mission as a member of the Board of Servant Leaders as we continue to evolve in the ways and places, we deploy resources. This must be accomplished while tending to our existing church family.
He hopes to expand the cross-section of members actively involved in seizing the opportunities and challenges God places before us. With Him all things are possible.
Jennifer Pelletier
Jennifer (Jen) Pelletier has been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since 2013. She is interested in serving as a member of the Board of Servant leaders and wishes to help GSLC continue to show God’s love to the congregation and the community. She previously served in 2019-2020.
Jen has been a member of various congregations since childhood and a member of Lutheran congregations since 2008. She enjoys Bible study and attends the yearly GSLC women’s retreats. Jen is married to Dan, and they have been married since 1997. She has two dogs and enjoys traveling, gardening and scrapbooking.
