Getting There

Posted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on May 03, 2026

Jesus’ words in today’s Gospel, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life”, confront the widespread belief that all religions or moral efforts ultimately lead to God. Pastor James contrasts this modern pluralistic view with Jesus’ exclusive claim, emphasizing that neither religious practice nor personal righteousness can secure salvation. Instead, he highlights that only a genuine relationship with Jesus opens the way to the Father. The message underscores the uniqueness of Jesus’ declaration: He is not simply a spiritual guide or wise teacher, but the only path to God, offering true life and lasting hope to all who trust in Him.
