Known for Mercy

Posted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on June 07, 2026

Many people avoid church because they see Christians fail, forgetting that the church is a place for sinners who know they need Jesus, not a showcase for the already‑perfect. Scripture reminds us that no one is righteous on their own, and today’s confirmands are called not to religious elitism but to a life shaped by mercy and faith. Jesus models this mercy by reaching out to the outcasts, the unclean, and the broken, showing that God’s call always leads us toward those who seem least deserving. True obedience is not about rule‑keeping or ritual sacrifice but about extending Christ’s compassion to those who need it most. As you step into your faith, let your life echo Jesus’ words: your faith has made you well, go in peace.
