Who Are They?

On All Saints’ Day, we lift our eyes beyond the sorrow and struggles of this fallen world and cling to God’s promise that a day is coming when every tear will be wiped away and every wound healed. Though sin leaves us undeserving of heaven and unable to save ourselves, Christ, the Lamb of God, has washed us clean in His blood and clothed us in the white robes of His righteousness. In John’s vision, the countless multitude gathered around God’s throne reminds us that salvation belongs entirely to the Lord, who has redeemed people from every nation and generation by grace alone. Therefore, the saints who have gone before us are not lost but alive in Christ, and because God cannot lie, we have the sure hope of seeing our believing loved ones again. Until that glorious reunion, God calls us to love those still beside us, confident that the great tribulation of this life will give way to eternal joy in the presence of our Shepherd and King.
