Frustrated (Romans 7:15-25a)

Posted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on July 05, 2026

Join Pastor James as he explores how the everyday frustrations people experience in their daily lives point to the deeper spiritual struggle Paul describes in Romans 7:15–25a. Through examples from traffic, parenting, work, travel, and personal failure, he shows how frustration reveals the tension between knowing what is right and still falling short. While God’s Law is good and trustworthy, our sinful nature remains weak, and Satan uses guilt, shame, and painful memories to turn believers away from Christ’s forgiveness. Drawing on Martin Luther, Pastor James urges Christians to cling boldly to Baptism and God’s promises, taking comfort in Jesus’ invitation from today’s Gospel: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden.”
